Dona
Julia Golf Club
18-hole, par 72 golf course in Casares Coast
(Costa del Sol)
The place for
lovers of Golf
Located in the Dona Julia Golf
Resort, a spectacular complex situated in Casares Coast, between Marbella and Sotogrande,
only 45 minute from Malaga Airport and just a few kilometres from Gibraltar, the
Dona Julia Golf Club course, owned by the Malaga Group Evemarina, fits perfectly
into the nature delling of the area and is notable for its magnificent views of
the Mediterranean and African coastline.
The Club's facilities will shortly be completed with club house which will be
located in the Park Hyatt Casares Hotel, with spacious practice course measuring
over 300 metres long, areas for short game training, a 9 hole, 3 par course and
International Golf School, at which golfers will be able to learn and improve
their playing technique under the tutelage of expert professionals.
The course is a par-71 (provisional), 18-hole layout, 6021 metres-long and built
according to Untied States Golf Association(USGA) rules in terms of fee,
bunkers, drainage and greens.
It was designed by renowned Malage architect Antonio Garcia Garrido, the man
responsible for some of Spain's top courses.
The most notable features of this course is the extensive size of the green,
sown with Agroslis Pen-G2 grass and having an avarage area of 700m2, some even
exceeding 1,000m2.
The golf course has two very different layouts, being suitable for any type of
player, the first 9 hole are longer and more difficult, winding between
indigenous tree, lakes and rivers while the other 9 area more manageable, having
a gentle incline, and being within close proximity to the sea. An undoubted
challenge for professionals as well as high handicappers.

Finca Cortesín
Golf Club
Casares, Costa del Sol, Spain
Finca Cortesín Golf
Club opened in October 2006. It is located in the district of Casares, halfway
between Marbella and Sotogrande. Its privileged location offers views over the
Mediterranean and the African coastline from every angle.
The golf course has been designed by Cabell Robinson. Unlike most of the
existing courses in the Costa del Sol area, houses do not interfere with the
game. This also means that there is a lot of room for the holes which are not
cramped by buildings, so the player can enjoy his golf in a natural environment.
The length of the course reaches nearly 7 km from the back tees, becoming one of
the longest courses in Europe, with a total par of 72. There are five par 3’s,
eight par 4’s & five par 5’s. The main features are the length of the course and
the great variety of its natural vegetation which includes olive trees and
corks.
The 18 holes are very unique since every hole is completely different to the
others which makes playing very enjoyable. Technically speaking, it is important
to emphasize the following features: the Bermuda 419 Grass fairways are very
Wide (up to 50 mts.), the bunkers are beautifully shaped and filled with white
marble sand. Tee boxes are very high quality (every hole has several tee
platforms so the player always finds them in perfect shape). Without doubt, the
greens are one of Finca Cortesín jewels, they all have slight brakes and have
the quality to be extremely fast. Finca Cortesin also includes also a Jack
Nicklaus golf academy. This learning method has been personally developed by
Jack Nicklaus, an enjoyable and personalized method of teaching, based on
matching the swing with the player.
The Club House and
the remaining sport facilities and services all have an excellent level of
quality.
